We investigate the relationship between food, supply chains and places. From R&D to territorial branding and Terroir Dossiers, we turn local knowledge into evidence-based strategy.
casogeographics is a food intelligence studio focused on the relationship between products, supply chains and places. We help companies, institutions and territories investigate the value embedded in food and translate it into development strategies, innovation pathways and credible territorial narratives.
We work through three integrated areas: R&D and product innovation, marketing and territorial branding, and Terroir Dossiers — in-depth studies of food terroirs based on supply-chain analysis, GIS mapping, historical research and local knowledge.
Our approach is evidence-based and place-specific. We do not apply generic formulas: we reconstruct the identity of a territory and deploy a strategy built around its actual strengths.
casogeographics was founded by Antonio Caso — food historian, development geographer and European project manager with 7+ years of experience at the intersection of Mediterranean food heritage, territorial strategy and EU-funded development.
Author of A tavola con gli Apuli (2019) and A tavola con le Aquile (2024) — two research volumes documenting agrifood heritage across Puglia and Albania. Secretary General of the Fondazione Dieta Mediterranea. His academic work has been presented at CIHEAM MedForum (Montpellier), published on Encyclopedia.pub, and cited in European food policy contexts.
He has designed and implemented 30+ projects across 18 countries, managed over €1M in EU grants, and trained 500+ professionals — building the field intelligence that underpins every casogeographics engagement.
In sport, the margin between winning and losing is measured in milliseconds — and increasingly in what athletes eat. In luxury hospitality, the most memorable experience is no longer a view or a thread count, it's a meal that tells a story. In corporate wellness, productivity doesn't start with software — it starts at the table.
Food is no longer just nutrition. It is culture, data, strategy and identity. The organisations that understand this first will move faster, attract better talent, build stronger brands and create deeper loyalty.
casogeographics exists to give them that advantage.
casogeographics works at the intersection of products, supply chains and places. We combine food research, territorial marketing and in-depth terroir studies to transform local assets into evidence-based strategies.
Research and development for food products and agri-food systems: new concepts, reinterpretation of traditional recipes, valorisation of ancient ingredients and local biodiversity.
Positioning strategies rooted in the identity of products and places. We build credible narratives, communication tools and branding systems for companies, territories and local food ecosystems.
In-depth studies of food terroirs. Each dossier reconstructs the relationship between product, supply chain and territory through historical research, GIS mapping, landscape analysis and local knowledge.
casogeographics provides independent territorial intelligence to international professionals, organisations and private clients seeking to understand, evaluate or develop activities in Puglia.
Puglia is not a single, uniform destination. Its cities, coastal areas, rural landscapes, productive districts and inland communities offer different identities, conditions and opportunities. We help clients understand these differences, compare locations, identify relevant local actors and approach the region with reliable, place-based knowledge.
Comparative analysis of different areas of Puglia according to the objectives, priorities and practical needs of each client.
Identification of institutions, businesses, producers, professionals, service providers and potential local partners.
Field visits, preliminary reconnaissance, local meetings and direct analysis of the geographical, social and productive context.
Interpretation of local food cultures, traditions, seasonal practices and community dynamics across the region.
Our role is territorial and strategic. We do not operate as a real estate agency, travel agency, legal advisor or tax advisor.
We begin with the product and the places that make it possible. We reconstruct the supply chain, read the landscape and analyse the historical, geographical and productive factors that shape the identity of a food terroir.
We identify the concrete needs of companies, institutions and local stakeholders. The analysis connects territorial assets with market gaps, positioning challenges and realistic opportunities for development.
We translate the research into a deployable strategy or a complete Terroir Dossier. The final output combines territorial narratives, GIS-supported evidence, historical reconstruction and an operational roadmap for valorisation.
